A SOLAR GARDEN LIGHT (9 LED's) MOUNTED IN A SKYLIGHT

A skylight (the tube) is a very powerful point to collect solar power.

For those that do not know what a skylight is: It is a dome on the roof that is connected to the ceiling via a flexible reflective tube.

I bought a 9 LED solar garden light at a Game store (South Africa) for R199-00. I only used the head piece and fixed it to the ceiling skylight lens with normal tic-tac. In the daytime the 2 rechargeable 800mA batteries (in the garden light and replaceable) charge to full capacity. When it is dark, the build in sensor (in the garden light) switch on the battery power to the LED's. I use it in my kitchen, so it is not disturbing at night when the LED's is on. When the sun comes up, the LED's goes out and the batteries are being charged again.

It is not a major saving on electricity, but it at least prevent me for switching on a light that houses 3 x 11watt energy saving bulbs.
